King County (WA) Releases Request for Information

King County, Washington has released a Request for Information for a bike-sharing program in the Seattle area. The due date is January 22, so hurry up.

  1. Too bad Seattle has a helmet law that would make all riders wear helmets. In Europe I don't know of any program that makes helmet use mandatory, in fact the utility of Velib or other systems would lose traction if every short trip required fitting one.

Sharing bikes is one thing, sharing helmets is another, put both together and the process becomes overburdened.

Bike sharing for adults, who choose to where a helmet or not, is the normal procedure.
