Wofford College ...Hey Bud, got a tip for your map. Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina has a campus bike share program. It is a low tech version with combination locks that the students know the code for. I think it would be kewl if you could add it to your map. Thanks!

NathanTurnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14136699282668649605noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7536492701084612733.post-66408800723791711292007-10-29T15:45:00.000-04:002007-10-29T15:45:00.000-04:00Hey Paul,I was at your presentation on the 22nd. ...Hey Paul,
I was at your presentation on the 22nd. Great job. I hope Arlington county will favorably consider your proposal. I have linked your blog to mine. I'll keep checking your blog for any updates. I can see some potential ideas but what are the metrics for the Arlington area you are using to see the value in bringing the program to the county? Is it Arlington commuters (within arlington), DC/Arlington commuters? People w/o cars? Etc...

I am all for the idea of alternative transportation (in particular cycling), but who is the target audience and what will they use it for? I would think this information needs to be used to evaluate the economics, the programs you mentioned and the final bike sharing locations.

Would love to hear more so I can see the larger picture. Again, it is interesting concept to help us fat happy Americans :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7536492701084612733.post-7320833518214498542007-10-03T12:09:00.000-04:002007-10-03T12:09:00.000-04:00I just read about the potential bike-share program...I just read about the potential bike-share program in San Francisco. As a former resident and bike commuter of the Netherlands, and not-so-frequent commuter here in SF, I say the problem is not obtaining a bike. The barrier is where to park them!! If we just instigate a program where every public transportation station has a bike rack, and there are bike garages in the city, you can bet more people will dust off their bikes and get out there and ride.PRChickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14996022171972991974noreply@blogger.com
